Drip Campaigns
A drip campaign is a timed email sequence: enroll a lead and the emails go out one by one on the schedule you set, with optional open/click branching and automatic exits. Build one by hand or let Copilot design it.
Found in the sidebar under Drip Campaigns.
Two ways to build a campaign
Design with Copilot
Click Design with Copilot, describe the audience, goal, and pacing ("5-step nurture sequence for new Instagram leads, friendly tone, auto-enroll") and click Create Draft. Copilot drafts the whole sequence; steps it designs can be AI-personalized per lead — instead of a fixed template, each lead gets an email written from the step's brief at send time. You review the draft and activate it yourself.
New Manual Campaign
Click New Manual Campaign to write every email yourself — sent exactly as written, no AI. The builder is a timeline:
- Who enters — "Leads I enroll" (manual) or "Every new lead" (auto-enrollment on lead creation).
- Each Email card has a subject and message; merge tags
{{lead.name}},{{lead.company}},{{lead.city}}are filled per lead. - The wait between emails sits on the connector above each card — a number of hours or days after the previous email (the first email can send immediately on enrollment, or after a wait).
- After this email — the branching controls (see below).
- Add email extends the sequence; Create draft campaign saves it. Drafts don't send anything — review, then Activate from the list.
Open/click branching
Each step can react to engagement with two rules:
- If a link is clicked — continue in order, skip ahead to a later email, or End campaign — goal reached.
- If opened, no click — the same options.
On the campaign card, branch rules show as amber notes on the step ("clicked → end campaign", "opened → jump to #4").
The campaigns list
Each campaign card shows its status chip (active/paused/draft), a Manual or AI badge, its trigger ("Auto-enrolls new leads" or "Manual enrollment"), the audience, the step count, and enrollment numbers (active / total). Buttons: Activate / Pause, enroll (the person icon), expand to see the steps, and delete — deleting stops active enrollments immediately.
Enrolling leads
Click the enroll button on a campaign:
- One lead — pick a lead and click Enroll. The first email is scheduled from the moment of enrollment. Leads without an email address can't be enrolled.
- Whole audience — pick one of your contact Lists or Segments and click Enroll all. Contacts become leads if they aren't already (matched by email); the result tells you exactly what happened ("12 enrolled from 15 contacts · 2 already in this campaign · 1 without email skipped").
Leads can also be enrolled by a workflow (Enroll in Drip action) or by asking Copilot.
Exit rules and deliverability
- A reply ends the drip — when an inbound reply from the lead arrives in the Inbox, their active drip enrollments stop automatically, so nobody gets nurture email after they've answered.
- Opted-out people are never enrolled.
- Emails send through your org's SMTP settings (Settings → Integrations → Email (SMTP)), which include a daily send limit to protect your sender reputation.
- Opens and clicks are tracked per email — that's what feeds the branching rules and the engagement data on contact profiles.
