VBRI Group Copilot

Copilot is the CRM's AI assistant — a chat that can actually read and work your data: list and create leads, log calls, build drip campaigns and dashboard widgets, send email, and more. Open it at /ai.

The chat

The page is a chat panel with a history sidebar. Type a question or an instruction and send it; replies stream in with full formatting (lists, tables). While Copilot is using your CRM data mid-turn, you'll see "Working with your CRM data…" instead of a blank bubble. If a request fails, the error is shown with a Retry button — never a silent dead end.

What Copilot can do

Read (everyone with Copilot access):

  • List and search leads; surface leads needing attention; produce a weekly sales report.
  • Read a lead's Customer Brief — needs, pain points, objections, and the commitments your team made — by name or email, e.g. "What does Priya need?" (see Leads → Customer Brief).
  • List calls, meetings, and opportunities; forecast the pipeline.
  • Search the knowledge base.
  • List drip campaigns and dashboard widgets.

Act (requires the "take actions" permission):

  • Create leads, update a lead's status, assign leads to teammates.
  • Log calls and meetings from transcripts.
  • Predict an opportunity's win chance.
  • Create drip campaigns and enroll leads in them.
  • Create and delete dashboard widgets ("show me leads by city" puts a chart on your Dashboard).
  • Send email (logged in the Inbox).
  • Create workflows.

Copilot only ever sees your own organization's data, and its abilities follow your role.

Conversation history

The left sidebar lists your past conversations with a title, age, and message count. Click one to reopen it — follow-up messages continue the same session. New Chat starts fresh; the trash icon on a conversation deletes it. History is saved automatically as you chat.

Permissions

Two permissions under the AI Copilot group (Settings → Team → Roles) control access:

  • Use VBRI Group Copilot chat (ai.chat) — whether the user can open Copilot at all. Granted to all roles by default.
  • Let Copilot take actions (create/update/send) (ai.actions) — whether Copilot's write tools are available. Granted to Admins and Members by default; denying it downgrades Copilot to read-only for that user, so it can still answer questions but not change anything.

Copilot elsewhere in the app

The same engine powers New Widget on the Dashboard, Design with Copilot on Drip Campaigns, AI page generation on Landing Pages, the AI insight button in the Inbox, and the AI analysis on Calls & Meetings. Leads created through Copilot show Source "AI Copilot" on the Leads page.
